Shrouded Light

Shrouded Light is an ongoing full-spectrum infrared photography series that records wavelengths of light beyond the human eye. The resulting images transform familiar landscapes. Rather than digital manipulation, these colors emerge from the translation of invisible light into a visible spectrum. Within the project, color operates as a semiotic system. Red evokes blood and fire, while yellow and orange have long signaled both illumination and caution. By reassigning these chromatic meanings to the natural landscape, Shrouded Light asks viewers to reconsider how color shapes our perception of environmental change. Instead of showcasing disaster porn, how can we visually represent the global interconnectedness of environmental change in a different way?
